PringleVision™ Results

We must admit, after previously getting quite variable results from our PringleVision™ cameras and development, we had our socks knocked off when we saw these images loom from the gloom of the darkroom…

Pinhole Pringles

Today we spent the morning turning Pringles tins into cameras, causing much confusion amongst the children who couldn't work out how the camera 'saved' the image!

We did explain and I think after we actually develop the images in coffee, the idea will become clearer. Until we show you the results, here are the kids making the 'pringlecams'.

But really - when you think about it, Pringles + Coffee = photographs does sound kinda funny.

Sticking down hard, no light leaks, please!

Shooting Stars™ Adults' Light Painting Evening

STOP PRESS:

On the night of Sunday 12th August the Perseid Meteor Shower will be peaking so we're running our popular One-Night-Stand™ Light Painting Workshop for Adults in the hope of capturing this special show.

Light painting creates magical imagery that expands what can be done with a camera.  Bring a Digital SLR camera if you have one or experiment with one of ours.  Learn about long exposures and apertures.  If weather permits we'll also head down to the beach for some late-night watery shininess, THEN, if we have clear skies, we'll be perfectly placed to photography with remarkable astronomical event!

Sunday 12th August, 8 'til late.  Sausage and salad BBQ included.  Meet at Yasmin's studio in Les Effards, St Sampsons.  Limited spaces available.

We'll munch while planning our light painting shoot then move into the studio for some creative light painting then hopefully be able to head down to the beach for more fun and a chance to shoot stars!

Hear us on BBC Radio Guernsey

Click here to listen to our students when they bumped into Murray Norton on The Bridge today.  It kicks off at about 2'01"48s and again at 2'22"22s.  What fun!

(note: the BBC iPlayer thingy doesn't let you scroll exactly to the time you want to listen to so you'll have to drag the little button along to the nearest spot before)

Some photo school fun...

St Sampson's Shoes... all 125 of them!

From our time photographing shoes on the  Bridge this morning, we had lots of lovely people who were a little surprised by our requests to photograph their feet, but none the less very helpful!
We also got interviewed by Radio Guernsey.

125 pairs of feet!

Days Two and Three

Well, we are all having a lot of fun, and just a few teaser photos to show, we can't show you all the groovy stuff until all the kids and parents have seen them on our showdown night.
So, some teasers from the last two days....

We girls slipped off to try out some photos to make your brain hurt.

Elysia is our champion of holding the difficult pose.
 Well posed, Tori!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the boys are a makin'
Ooh, look - we went through a LOT of balloons... what were we up to? Keep an eye out for Saturday's post, after the students get first peek...
Ah, this one is a big clue!
